The Balancer Report

In the last week, and as always, Balancer kept building. And here, we update this report to all our followers and supporters.

Overview

The Total Mainnet TVL is $1.26B. The amount is $239.4M from V1 and $1.02B from V2. And we can see an increase of 13% compared to the $1.11B of the previous week.

Polygon TVL is at $83.0M, registering an increase of about 6.6% compared to the $77.8M of the previous week. And we can find Balancer in position No. 4 of the TVL ranking.

Arbitrum TVL is at $26.3M, registering an increase of about 13.8% compared to the $23.1M of the previous week. And we can find Balancer in position No. 10 of the TVL ranking.

And finally, Balancer on Optimism by Beethoven X sits at $16.2M TVL, almost unchanged from last week's TVL of $16.3M.

Daily LP revenues for Mainnet V2 averaged around $40.6K last week with daily LP revenue peaking at $111.4K on October 19.

Liquidity Mining

This section will list the top three expected pools to receive most of the next period’s emissions. Voting is open for four more days, and the next period is scheduled to start on Thursday at 00:00 am UTC.

• Mainnet - wstETH / WETH - currently at 14.77%.

• Polygon - WMATIC / stMATIC - currently at 6.66%.

Meeting the fam

In this section, we will be interviewing the different members of the team so that you can get to know them better. This week we have Gleb (Twitter: @glebshumakov)

What's your (educational / professional) background?
I have a BA degree in Linguistics. I also studied AI for a bit but ultimately decided that it’s not really for me so that’s how I ended up in Web3. I have always leaned towards new and exciting rather than old and boring, so I never really wanted to have a traditional career. This space is probably the best one I could work in.

How many languages ​​do you speak?
I speak English, Russian and a bit of Spanish.

You are the last collaborator to join the DAO, how are you feeling with the tasks you carry out? And what led you to be part of Balancer?
That’s a great question! I first learned about Balancer through Gyroscope about a year ago. Then I would see Balancer being mentioned quite often and I think that was what ultimately prompted me to start contributing.  I gotta say my onboarding was very smooth and I think that’s what made me commit to Balancer and I’m glad I found my place here. 

What’s your favorite thing about Balancer?
There are many, but if I had to pick one it would be how open Balancer is, both to projects and contributors. If you want to build something you can always do it and get support whether through grants or onboarding. I think this is what makes the Balancer ecosystem so strong and resilient.

What do you think is the most positive thing about being part of Balancer DAO?
The people! Everyone is really talented and the atmosphere within the DAO is quite welcoming.

How do you expect to see Balancer evolve in the near future?
I see Balancer as one of the most prominent DeFi protocols and I hope to see it cement its place as such further. I’m sure that Balancer is positioned extremely well when it comes to helping the industry grow and growing along with it. That’s something I’ll be looking forward to.
