The Balancer Report
Every week we share the hottest ecosystem news and cover the most important governance developments. Let's dive in!
Balancer: TVL and Stats - DefiLlama
Balancer's TVL is $1.16B. Distributed in the following manner:
The Total Mainnet TVL is $978,01M and there is a decrease of about 35.65% compared to the $1.52B of the previous week. Being located in the twelfth position according to TVL.
You might notice a drop in the TVL, here’s why: we source data for our charts from Defillama and they recently stopped including V1 TVL.
This only affects what you see in the newsletter, the actual TVL hasn’t changed that much.
The Polygon TVL is at $143.80M, registering a decrease of about 8.15% compared to the $155.53M of the previous week. Being in the third position according to TVL and very close to the second position belonging to Quickswap.
Arbitrum TVL is at $38.25M, registering an increase of 7.92% compared to the $35.22M of the last week.
And finally, Balancer on Optimism by Beethoven X sits at $33.04M TVL.
This section will list the top three expected pools to receive most of the next period’s emissions. Voting is open for four more days, and the next period is scheduled to start on Thursday at 00:00 am UTC.
Polygon - 20WETH-80BAL tetuBAL - currently at 17.15%.

Balancer unveils Generalized Boosted Pools 🎉
They allow otherwise inactive deep liquidity to be activated and monetized. You can create your own generalized boosted pool through Aave V2 Factory, the ERC-4626 Factory or your own custom LinearPoolFactory

The Great Migration FAQ is now live
It covers the now-mitigated reentrancy vulnerability, the essence of the Great Migration and the steps that one needs to take to migrate their funds to the new pools.
Here’s how you can migrate from the old pools, the process is pretty siple and it only involves four steps:
UMA and Snapshot have introduced oSnap, which lets token holders propose and execute governance changes through Gnosis Safe in a gasless manner.
“Optimistic governance offers tokenholders the power to go from proposal all the way to execution without any reliance on team multi-sigs to execute code.”
This means that once a vote concludes anyone can implement the proposal if there are no disputes regarding the outcome.
You can find more details on Medium. The Defiant presents a deep dive into Balancer’s recent LSD wins and Aura’s explosive growth.
Balancer’s Polygon TVL has recently surpassed $139M which represents a 55% jump. Aura’s TVL in the meantime reached $540M in TVL “vaulting it into the top 20 DeFi projects.”
The article also highlights the rETH-ETH pool that has seen explosive growth thanks to Rocketpool’s incentives.
Fjord Foundry introduces ‘Sweeper Pools’ in collaboration with NFTX and FloorDAO.
The pools that utilize Balancer’s LBPs mitigate “the potential harsh price impact that can occur from an immediate sweeping of the floor”.
Sweeper Pools facilitate gradual NFT acquisition over a period of time in an automated and permissionless manner.
You can find more details in Fjord’s announcement post.
Here are the current bribes on HiddenHand. The round ends on February 23, 2023.
Snapshot
Snapshot is an off-chain voting platform that allows DAOs, DeFi protocols, or NFT communities to vote easily and without gas fees.
Snapshot derives its name from taking a "snapshot" of the Ethereum blockchain at a certain block number before voting opens. By having a fixed point in time, this eliminates the need to worry about moving tokens voting multiple times or someone using a flash loan to borrow a ton of voting power.
Snapshot votes are used by Balancer to facilitate BIPs that allow the DAO to hold votes on a wide variety of issues thart cover virtually everything that the protocol is involved with.
Do you find it interesting? You can expand the information in the documentation.
Last week saw 12 Snapshot votes with all of them being approved with the exception of BIP-188:
