Balancer Bits: Friendly forks
Balancer is available on multiple blockchains, but did you know that some of these integrations are maintained by friendly protocols rather than Balancer itself? This brings us to the concept of friendly forks!
There are different types of forks in DeFi, but for the purposes of this section the following explanation seems to be appropriate: a fork is a derivative based on an already existing protocol that adds additional functionality to it (for example by bringing the protocol to a new blockchain).
This is exactly what Beethoven X did with Balancer on Optimism and Fantom: thanks to their team’s work you can now explore DeFi on these two blockchains in addition to the ones that Balancer supports natively.
You can find more details in their docs!
